Brutus is going to be a good looking, solidly-built brumby like his sire. He will probably mature to around 14 hands and will easily be able to carry an adult rider all day. Pack horse or pony club mount are other potential careers for this nice little gelding. He has responded very well to his natural horsemanship education, doing all that is asked of him, whether it be walking over rubber mats, or carrying a blue tarp as he circles around on his lead. He will be ready to learn about wearing a saddle and carrying a rider next spring.
Brutus was started by Leon, a German helper here at Jagumba that had never handled horses before he came to stay with us. Both of them were wonderful students, climbing the steep learning curve with surprising speed and were well bonded by the time Leon had to go. Now Brutus needs to find his new person to bond to as they advance through the next stages of his education.
Brutus will be capable of several disciplines. With his stout build and background, he would look sharp pulling a cart. He would be a great little trail riding mount, put the kids through pony club and the adults through their adult riding club activities, haul all your gear as a packhorse, and be your best friend.
