Jagumba      how to find us

From Tumbarumba  (it takes one hour driving from Tumbarumba)

Follow the Tooma Road between Tumbarumba and Tooma.

Maragle Road is a total of 28 km from Tumbarumba - Elliott Way is 18 km from Tumbarumba, and Maragle Road is another 10 km beyond the Elliott Way turnoff.  You will pass the property “Charlotts Pastures” on the right, then see a logging trucks 400m sign that indicates the intersection. Turn left onto Maragle Road just after the road passes through a low cutting. The turnoff is 2 km north of (before) the Southern Cloud Lookout.  When you can read the brown sign for the lookout in 2.2km, you have just passed Maragle Road.

Turn east (left) on Maragle Road.

From Tintaldra or Corryong (it takes one hour driving from Corryong)

Cross the river into NSW at Tintaldra and take the first right – about 3 km – either way will take you to Tooma – to the right is bitumen all the way. Follow signs toward Tumbarumba.  After crossing three bridges and passing the Tooma Pub you will ascend a long hill and will pass the Southern Cloud lookout (nice viewpoint).  Maragle Road turns to the right just over 2km from the lookout.

Maragle Road

Cross Maragle Creek and head up the hill.  DO NOT turn right down Maragle Creek Road.

Continue past the No Through Road  sign.

The bitumen runs out in 15 km – continue on the gravel road.

You will cross over three cattle grids as you pass through Dunollie Park and then enter KNP.

Go straight ahead on the narrow bush track 300 meters past the 3rd cattle grid as the Jagumba sign indicates. (Beware of the sweeping bend in the road here where the logging trucks all turn right into the pines, which can lead you into a confusion of roads deep in the pine plantation.)

You will come to a Y intersection in about 1km at the big powerline. Veer right and follow the powerline for another 3 km – not taking any right turns into the pine plantation.

You will come to a gate our sign saying Jagumba. You are now entering Jagumba.  Please leave all gates as you find them - either opened or closed.

You can turn left up the hill after 300 meters (at the sign) and take the shortcut down the mountain or follow along the powerline for about 2km, eventually turning left under the powerline and winding down the hill through the bush until it opens out and you can see the homestead in the cleared paddocks.

All up, it is about 24 km from where you turn off onto Maragle road and can be done in a car if you take it very steady and it hasn't been raining too much.

Good luck and happy travels.
